This weekend, the world’s largest ukulele festival returns to the Blue Mountains.

You read that right… the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, is host to the biggest ukulele party on the planet.

In fact, this year is The Blue Mountains Ukulele Festival’s 10th anniversary.

Alan Jones attended a few years ago and caught up with organiser Dean Newbold ahead of this weekend’s events.

“Please, come along,” says Dean.

“I’m sure all the ukulele community knows about it but we want the ukulele community to include many more.

“Everything at the festival is free. We work all year to save up the money so that we can put on this party for free for everybody.”

The 2019 Blue Mountains Ukulele Festival is being held in and around the iconic Carrington Hotel at Katoomba.
