Michael Sukkar, Assistant Minister to the Treasurer, says a corporate tax cut could be on the cards for Australia.

Mr Sukkar tells Michael McLaren the government will have to convince the public and the Senate that reducing tax for corporates will flow through to benefit everyday Australians.

He says lower tax rates for businesses will help make Australia more competitive.

“A huge number of our competitors have much lower corporate tax rates, not just the United States. It’s one of the factors companies look at when they look to invest in Australia.

“The government isn’t a benevolent entity that wants to put money into the pockets of corporates but in order not to be left behind and ensure we can attract investment that creates jobs for Australians, we have to remain competitive.”
