Veteran Kevin Jacoby is going for his first medal at this year’s Invictus Games.

But it’s not why the 49-year-old father is competing.

Kevin, who suffers from a back injury and PTSD after serving in East Timor and Afghanistan, says the competition is crucial to his recovery journey.

And that matters much more to him than where he stands on the podium.

“Making it to the games is part of a huge goal,” he tells Chris Smith.

“Of course I’m going to try for the medal, but that’s not the point of the game.

“The point of the game is for recovery and rehabilitation.”
