One snake catcher reckons he’s broken the record for catching the largest brown snake yet on the Sunshine Coast.

Richie Gilbert was called out to Elimbah, north of Brisbane, to catch what ended up being an almost two-metre snake.

“It was in a shed that a fella was living in… so not an ideal scenario,” he tells Ben Fordham.

“He was sitting up on his couch with his legs up in the air sitting nice and still for me until I arrived, because it was quite close to him when he gave me the call.”
