Last week was a disastrous one for Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

The PM was hit with his 30th consecutive Newspoll loss and was forced to deny claims he shut down Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton’s suggestion to cut Australia immigration intake.

The Big Guns join Chris Kenny to break down the chaos in Canberra.

Graham Richardson says “the mob has given up” on Mr Turnbull.

“[He’s] like a fish squirming on a hook. No matter what he does, he still gets caught.

“Rule one is don’t lie, rule two is if you abandon rule one, don’t get caught. Unfortunately for him, he lied and he got caught.”

Andrew Bolt says the PM kicked a “complete own goal”.

“Malcolm Turnbull gave a… denial of the truth. A truth that was later confirmed by Peter Dutton himself.

“That is just bizarre. It is utterly bizarre.”

Andrew says our nation’s leader will be hoping May’s budget will be enough to dig them out of the hole they’re in.
