2GB Sports Reporter Mike Pearsall is shaving his head.

Reverting back to his 18-year-old skinhead days, he’s getting the buzz cut in support of the fight against cancer.

In charge of the shears are Darryl ‘Big Marn’ Brohman and 2GB news reader Amie Meehan, who is beating her own battle with breast cancer.

Mike tells Ben Fordham why he’s getting rid of his luscious locks.

“I think it’s obviously a good cause. We’ve all been affected by cancer in some way whether it’s a colleague like Amie… a family member or friend,” he says.

“I lost my best friend when I was 19 to cancer.

“A lot of the time we become desensitised to it and I just thought it’s definitely something to revisit and remember.”

Hoping to raise $1,500, Mike is already more than halfway to his goal.
