Growers are being reassured about the safety of a chemical found in weed killer, despite recent international concerns.

The New South Wales Farmers’ Association says glyphosate is an essential tool for production, and has been deemed safe by regulatory bodies.

Agriculture Science committee chair David Mailler supports its use but says farmers should be able to make up their own mind.
