Results for Year 9 NAPLAN tests will no longer be linked to a minimum standard needed for the HSC.

This follows a detailed investigation over the past 12 months.

Minister for Education Rob Stokes said reforms to introduce a minimum standard to sit the HSC from 2020 had widespread support.

However, the plan was scrapped as the Minister recognised the link placed unnecessary pressure on Year 9 students.

Alan Jones speaks with Minister Stokes.
