In 2011, Raphael McGowan received a life-changing call from his father while on a dream trip across the USA.

His 30-year-old sister Tess had been diagnosed with melanoma and it was terminal.

Tess had just celebrated her first wedding anniversary and was pregnant with her first child.

By June 2012, Tess had died, aged 31.

The ordeal sparked Raph into gear, eventually leading to the creation of the bakslap, a simple, effective lotion applicator that you can use anywhere on your body and keep your hands free of mess.

Michael McLaren speaks with Raphael about the bakslap and how his Kickstarter campaign is tracking.
