Companies around Australia are having their data stolen by hackers.

This data includes personal information about staff.

The government is cracking down on breaches and if you or your company aren’t protecting your data, you could be up for a whopping fine.

Ross Greenwood speaks to Minister for Law Enforcement and Cyber Security, Angus Taylor.

“We have had serious data breaches. This is an increasingly imporatnt issue.

“The penalties are there as a motivator.

“We’re not intending to use a big stick on small businesses.

“The aim is to tell business that this is extremely important. We’re taking it seriously, we need them to take it seriously.”
