Rail Union Secretary Alex Claassens’ has defended the cancellations, promising talks will continue this morning.

Ben Fordham: “We’ve heard all of this a million times before. If you’ve gone through so many ministers, is there a possibility that the problem might be you?”

Mr Claassens is on Labor Party’s Administrative Committee, a group responsible for election campaigns, but he denies the strikes are fueled by any political motive.
