This couple’s heartwarming love story is one you won’t believe

Do you believe some people are just meant to be together? You might when you hear the story of Eric Tweedsdale and Enid Bradshaw.

A young Enid and Eric met and fell in love in 1939 at Sydney’s Merrylands Leagues Club.

Eric tells Chris Smith he knew he loved her the moment they locked eyes.

“When I walked in the door, Enid looked me and I looked her…and that was it.

“I remember I took her down to the Merrylands station to put her on the train back to Granville…and when she wasn’t looking I gave her a kiss on the cheek.”

The couple were engaged but separated when Eric joined the Navy during World War Two, the distance becoming too much.

Both of them married again and moved on but Eric admits he never stopped thinking about Enid.

62 years later they met by chance when a reunion at the very same leagues club was arranged.

The two hopeless romantics, now aged in their 90s, have been inseparable ever since.

“I always say this was meant to be. Enid had lost her husband, I had lost my wife. It just seemed to come together again.”

Enid tells Chris she couldn’t be happier.

“I think he’s the top of the world. I think these things are planned, don’t you?”
