State budget played strong role in federal budget surplus, Premier says

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says the federal budget is “good shape” due to the contribution New South Wales is making.
The federal budget is forecast to return to surplus one year earlier than expected, and the Premier says the state is playing a strong role.
“I don’t want to blow my own trumpet too much, Ben. But the federal budget’s in good shape because of the contribution NSW is making.
“Our economy is the strongest in the nation by a mile and our budget’s in the strongest position.
“I want everyone to feel confident that we have the resources, but also the ability to really get down on the ground.”
The Premier also said despite the “challenges” with the light rail, she is still “incredibly proud” of the project.
