Later this month, five federal electorates will head to the polls in a Super Saturday of by-elections.

The seats are up for grabs following the dual citizenship scandal that rocked Australian politics as well as a retirement.

The coalition is hoping to become the first government to win a seat off the opposition at a by-election in over 100 years.

The seats:

• Longman (Queensland) held by Labor
• Braddon (Tasmania) held by Labor
• Perth (Western Australia) held by Labor
• Mayo (South Australia) held by Centre Alliance
• Fremantle (Western Australia) held by Labor

Small business is expected to be one of the key issues in the tightly-contested battle for Braddon and Longman, where the government has been polling strongly.

1. No repeal of the legislative tax cuts in place
2. A cabinet position for the small business minister
3. An indexing of the ongoing write-offs scheme
4. Decisions of the Fair Work Commission to be honoured by the federal government
5. Make it easier to employ people
