Scott Morrison says ‘we’re not at war’, will not go after Liddell
Treasurer Scott Morrison says “we’re not at war” when it comes to the selling of AGL’s Liddell coal-fired power station.
He tells Ross Greenwood the Federal Government doesn’t have the power to take control of the station.
“These powers are held at the state level.
“We don’t have the power to just march in there and take the thing over.”
The Treasure says he would prefer to keep Liddell open.
“Our existing coal-fired power stations are the most affordable, most reliable form of energy that we have and we need to keep them running for as long as possible.”
