Public urged to be fire-safe following record fatalities this winter
Fire and Rescue NSW are urging the public to take action on fire safety following a record number of residential fire fatalities this winter.
The toll has already risen to double last season’s total after two deaths in separate unit fires in Sydney yesterday.
Fire and Rescue NSW Acting Deputy Commissioner Trent Curtin joined Ray Hadley to talk about the importance of working smoke alarms and to provide info on how to test and replace old systems.
“We know that working smoke alarms do save lives,” he said.
NSW residents can call 13 74 68 or visit the Fire and Rescue NSW website for more helpful information.
