The Basin Plan’s role during drought

The Murray Darling Basin Plan didn’t exist last time the eastern and southern states experienced a drought of the magnitude currently impacting producers.

It was signed into law in 2012, aiming to strike the right balance between production and the environment through South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT.

Rural reporter Eddie Summerfield caught up with Murray Darling Basin Authority Chief Executive Phillip Glyde, where I started by asking him about the role the Basin Plan plays during drought.
