Murray Darling Basin debacle explained

Rural News

Politics has again got in the way of the delivery of the Murray Darling Basin Plan.

Yesterday was the deadline for the Senate to vote on a disallowance motion put forward by Greens Senator Sarah Hanson Young.

But to the disappointment of many communities reliant on the river system, the motion passed the Senate 32 to 30.

Rural reporter Eddie Summerfield explains the debacle with some of the key players.
