Lexus unveils their exciting UX luxury crossover
Lexus surprised this week, revealing a very exciting new model due in November.
The Lexus UX is dubbed an urban crossover with Lexus claiming it’s designed for the modern urban explorer seeking a fresh, contemporary and dynamic take on luxury driving.
The new model is visually dynamic, with a trademark Lexus spindle grille and a short coupled rear.
The UX is coming in two models, the front-drive UX200 with 2.0-litre 126kW engine coupled to a direct shift CVT transmission, while the UX250h pairs a higher efficiency version of the 2.0-litre engine with a new fourth-generation hybrid drive system, available in either front drive or E four electric all-wheel-drive.
Pricing is expected to kick off around $45,000.
The first Lexus is built on the new compact lightweight architecture, as used by Toyota on their equally striking CH-R SUV, and it’s going to excite the premium SUV sector. The work of a team was led by Chika Kako, interestingly the first woman to reach chief engineer rank at Toyota and Lexus.
