Labor unveils plan to help keep pets in rental properties

Clinton Maynard

Clinton Maynard is joined by Courtney Houssos, Shadow Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation, to explain NSW Labor’s plan to streamline the application process for renters with pets.  Part of the policy is to give landlords 21 days to consider a tenant’s pet request – as well as being required to explain ‘why’ should the request is be  rejected.

As rules currently stand, prospective renters with pets can have their applications refused without any explanation.
