The debate continues to rage around pill testing at festivals.

Advocates for the measure have held a demonstration for the public and politicians to see how the process works.

Some Labor and Greens MPs turned up for the tutorial but members of the government stayed away.

President of Harm Reduction Australia Gino Vumbaca admits pill testing doesn’t guarantee everyone will be safe.

But he tells John Stanley it will help.

“We’re not saying that we would eliminate all harm and that no one will ever come to harm with pill testing at festivals.

“But because we can’t guarantee everybody will be safe it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have it at all.”
