Thousands of Optus customers are leaving the embattled telco after a cyberattack that compromised the personal data of millions of Australians.

There are reports Optus is trying to make it as hard as possible to switch carriers.

The Minister for Customer Service, Victor Dominello, told Jim Wilson communication hasn’t been clear enough.

“There has been too much mixed messaging from Optus.

“This is going to bite them where it hurts, and that’s with their balance sheet.”

If you have a complaint about the Optus data breach, you can contact the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman on 1800 062 058 or visit the website here

Jim Wilson says the company should be ashamed over the way they have dealt with affected customers.

“Optus have got to accept responsibility and show some goodwill to people who have been severely impacted by this cyber security breach.

“No one should be out of pocket and Optus need to lift its game and be accountable for their actions.”
