The Opposition has welcomed the return of mask rules in NSW as an added protection for businesses.

NSW today recorded a further 5,715 cases today, prompting the Premier to bring back some health measures.

Opposition Leader Chris Minns told Chris O’Keefe the decision to tighten restrictions was the right one, but should’ve come a week ago.

“You’ve got to look at the economy over the last week, when you’ve got major businesses, including the Business Council of Australia, saying ‘bring back the mask mandate’.

“You can’t be stubborn in a situation like this; you have to take expert advice and use commonsense.”
