More people looking to enter housing market

The property market is looking up in Sydney and Brisbane as more people are open to investing after the Coalition’s victory.

Auctioneers have reported better than expected clearance rates, with Sydney having it’s highest rate in 12 months.

James Pratt Auction Group’s James Pratt tells Chris Smith the Sydney market had the best clearance rate last weekend.

“Prices have dropped to a level that means it’s more affordable now for investors and home occupiers.

“Good properties, are always good properties. If you buy them now perhaps it’s lower, they will go up faster if its a good property.

Apollo Auctions Justin Nickerson tells Chris more Brisbane properties will be put on the market in coming weeks.

“We actually had our two biggest booking weeks of the year immediately after the election.”
