Liverpool Mayor calls for legislative change after Islamic State brides meeting
Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun says there’s dire need for legislative change surrounding the repatriation of Islamic State wives.
It comes after he met with Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil, senior security officials and two other mayors over the issue.

As it stands, the wives and children of slain Islamic State fighters who are Australian citizens will be returned to their local government area from which they left.
“In a victim of a crime, a victim has an opportunity to apply for an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) to at least say ‘keep away from us’,” he told Joe Hildebrand on 2GB Drive.
“So basically something like that but on a grander scale.”
