Jim Wilson defends ICAC’s viability amid criticism of Berejiklian inquiry

Jim Wilson has backed Labor leader Anthony Albanese’s call for a federal ICAC in the wake of NSW’s successful prosecution of the Obeid corruption case.

The Independent Commission Against Corruption has attracted criticism in recent weeks, since the resignation of former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, who is currently under its scrutiny.

“You need look no further than what’s unfolded with disgraced former Labor ministers Eddie Obeid and Ian Macdonald, to realise just how important ICAC is,” Jim commented.

“Why there isn’t a federal equivalent … is beyond me.

“While I don’t agree with Albo on many things, he has my support on this.”
