How Michael Waugh balances releasing albums with teaching English

Michael Waugh tried to hide his music from his students.

But in the Internet age, the musician/English teacher found it was impossible.

Michael tells Alan Jones he wouldn’t be able to cut either job out of his life.

He says his teachers were a formative influence when he was growing up, going out of their way to help him perform.

“Quite literally, that saved my life.

“Having someone create an opportunity for me to perform and develop skills… I was really inspired by those teachers.”

Having found a way to balance his two passions, Michael has just completed his second album, The Asphalt & the Oval.
