“This is how greedy they are…”

Hire car operators are not giving up the fight against Sydney Airport.

The airport is rezoning the waiting areas for hire cars, with drivers wanting to stay where they are set to be charged more than double their existing rate.

Chris Smith says it’s tough for small businesses to come up against the “judge and jury”.

Chris: “It’s a monopoly… This is how greedy they are, they wanted over 300%!”

The NSW Hire Car Association, which was consulted by the airport before the changes were made, says they felt “hugely disadvantaged” during negotiations.

NSW Motor Traders Association was not consulted by the airport.

CEO Stavros Yallouridis tells Chris he will sit down with the airport for a “constructive discussion” before the new rate is introduced.
