Four-year-old Ryan needs your help to walk again

Four-year-old Ryan can’t walk and he can’t sit or stand independently.

He can’t even play on his own.

Born with spastic cerebral palsy, Ryan suffers from constant, unbearable pain.

Ryan’s story was brought to Chris Smith’s attention after a listener emailed him sharing the family’s difficult story.

Out of options in Australia, there’s an opportunity for Ryan to undergo radical life-changing surgery in the US which would give him the chance to walk and even live pain-free.

To raise the much-needed funds, Ryan’s family and friends are holding a fundraiser at the Erskineville Bowling Club.

There’ll be raffles, auctions and plenty of action for the kids including face painting and a jumping castle.

The free, all-afternoon event kicks off at 12pm and runs until 6pm.

Ryan’s mum Nadine tells Chris they need about $140,000 to cover the surgery, physical therapy as well as travel costs.

Becoming emotional, she says, “we have just felt so loved from our community”.
