Cricket Australia and Cricket Tasmania in Tim Paine stoush as players feel abandoned

Tasmania’s cricket body has torn into its national counterpart, accusing Cricket Australia of treating sacked captain Tim Paine ‘appallingly’ and regarding him “as dispensable”.

Sydney Morning Herald chief cricket writer Andrew Wu told Ben Fordham he’s heard feedback from players increasingly frustrated by what they say is a lack of support from the national body.

This latest debacle comes on the heels of a stoush with coach Justin Langer, when players again felt they weren’t being heard.

“They just feel like they get let down by Cricket Australia.

“Whenever … times get a little bit tough, they just feel like the board don’t stand by them.”
