The car industry will review the advertising code after complaints some ads are promoting reckless driving.

Ford recently unveiled their new advertisement for their new Ranger Raptor, which shows the new car airborne and clocking high speeds of as much as 200km/h.

And it has some very concerned.

BWM Dentsu Chief Creative Officer Rob Belgiovane tells Ben Fordham he’s got “no doubt” it’s encouraging people to do the wrong thing.

“Society generally, but especially millennials… they react to car ads in the same way as tobacco, alcohol and gambling.

“Basically the advertising normalises the behaviour. So we believe companies have got a huge social responsibility to protect us and our kids.”
