Aussie swimmer butterflying for a good cause

Article image for Aussie swimmer butterflying for a good cause

Eli Ball is a brilliant man but Alan Jones jokes he’s a little bit mad.

Eli will be swimming the length of the Rottnest channel, a total of 19.7km, to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation tomorrow.

But that’s not all.

He will be performing the most difficult stroke, the butterfly, for the entire swim.

Eli Ball joins Alan Jones.

“At the moment what’s missing for me is conquering that channel.

“I attempted it last year and I got to the 17km mark. What’s missing is those extra 2.7kms for me.”

Eli says it’s a cause very close to his heart and he will be swimming for his young cousin Mason who was recently diagnosed with leukaemia.
