Former bikie boss Mahmoud “Mick” Hawi has died after he was shot in the face in a horrific daylight attack.

Emergency services were called to the Fitness First carpark in Rockdale just after midday following reports of gunshots.

Hawi was taken to St George Hospital where he was pronounced brain-dead an hour and a half after the incident.

Police have now confirmed Hawi has died from his injuries.

It’s reported the offender fled in a vehicle last seen in Lindsay Street.

Police from the riot squad are currently outside St George Hospital, where family and friends of the victim have gathered.

Macquarie Radio reporter Katarina Stefanovic is on the scene.

“Witnesses inside the gym say they heard multiple gunshots.

“Paramedics treated Hawi on the scene before he was rushed to hospital.”

Victor was inside the gym at the time when the shots rang out.
