The woman killed in the Sydney CBD stabbing rampage has been named as Michaela Dunn.

The 24-year-old was found dead in a fourth-storey apartment on Clarence Street, having been stabbed repeatedly in the neck.

She was found shortly after 20-year-old Mert Ney was arrested for allegedly stabbing another woman and threatening members of the public.

Ms Dunn was a former student at Rosebank College in Sydney’s inner west and attended the University of Notre Dame.

Her mother has told Nine News her daughter was a “beautiful, loving woman who had studied at university and travelled widely.”

Police have released a statement on behalf of the family thanking the public for “the support offered by the community” and requesting privacy as they deal with their loss.

Strike Force Lalchere has been established to investigate Tuesday’s attack, with Police Commissioner Mick Fuller telling Alan Jones, “the key question is terrorism”.
