Why you need to look after your heart

Article image for Why you need to look after your heart

February isn’t just the month of love, it’s the month for heart research.

Heart disease is still the leading cause of death in this country, killing one person every 27 minutes.

Cardiovascular Health Director from Heart Foundation NSW, Julie-Anne Mitchell, tells Chris Smith more.

“About two in three people will be affected or know someone who’s had heart disease some time in their life.

“The contributors to heart disease are varied. There are lifestyle factors, there’s also family history and then there are the clinical risk factors.

“Let’s face it, our lifestyle is one that is sometimes putting us at greater risk of heart disease.”

Julie-Anne also took some calls to answer your heart-related questions.
