Why the sale of Victoria Barracks ‘doesn’t stack up’
Michael McLaren has come to the conclusion that the sale of 67 defence sites, including that of Sydney’s Victoria Barracks, doesn’t stack up against common sense.
His comments come after his interview with the Defence Assistant Minister Peter Khalil, in which the minister claimed it wasn’t a financial decision after figures revealed it would cost the Government more to lease Defence Plaza than it would to maintain Victoria Barracks.
“To Peter Khalil, Richard Marles and Anthony Albanese, I respectfully say once more, it’s not too late to change your mind,” he said.
