‘Not about money’ – Michael takes Labor Minister to task over Victoria Barracks
Calls are mounting to stop the sale of several historic defence sites across the country, including Victoria Barracks, while the government spends millions renting Defence Plaza.
Labor Defence Assistant Minister Peter Kahlil has told Michael McLaren that there has been a multitude of misinformation being spread about the plans for the site.
He’s also claimed the 67 sites are not functional for an increasingly volatile world.
“We’re spending hundreds of millions of taxpayer money, Michael, on sites that are not fit for purpose … The investment into Defence Plaza economically makes way more sense,” he said,
