Legendary Australian Jockey Glen Boss joined Mark Levy to talk about why he retired.

“It comes to a point in your career when you kind of feel it,” he said.

“It is something I have been mulling over for a little while.

“The level I want to be at all the time and the level I should be at, you got to be fully committed all the time

“I could feel myself mentally start to shift a little bit, as a athlete you got to be true to your word and I promised myself many years ago that if I ever felt like this I would seriously consider stepping aside.”

Boss told Mark Levy it was time to move on from being a jockey.

“I felt like I am kind of young enough, I really need to put my energy into something else that is going to give me that same reward,” he said.

“I was going to the races and not feeling that same thing Mark.

“You got to be fully invested in this because if you are not, it is quite disrespectful to the people you are riding for and it is disrespectful to yourself.

“This is far from over, I think my journey is just beginning.”

Boss told Mark Levy what is next for him in his career.
