Why flood-hit communities are welcoming funding to fix damaged roads

Deputy Premier Paul Toole says the funding being offered needs to be used immediately in order to repair the roads as quickly as possible.

Flood-hit communities are welcoming funding to help them fix damaged roads.

$500m will be available to councils within weeks to repair potholes caused by floods and torrential rain.

The Cabonne Shire in the Central West takes in two thousand kilometres of road.

Mayor Kevin Beatty has told John Stanley, the money is desperately needed.

“The patching just doesn’t do it.”
