There was no mention in the Federal Budget papers of Stage 3 tax cuts because as Treasurer Jim Chalmers has explained, the cuts won’t start until July 2024.

When Ben Fordham asked Mr Chalmers if he has fully committed to keeping the Stage 3 tax cuts, the Treasurer could not give a direct answer.

“We think it’s important that when the budget can afford it, we provide tax relief, and that’s why we haven’t changed our position on Stage 3,” said Treasurer Chalmers.
