Why Alan Jones is backing Labor boss suspended over $100k donation

Alan Jones has come out in support of suspended Labor boss Kaila Murnain who’s been caught up in the Party’s dodgy political donations scandal.

An ICAC hearing has heard an Aldi shopping bag filled with $100,000 in cash was delivered to Labor headquarters by Chinese billionaire Huang Xiangmo in 2015.

Ms Murnain gave evidence that she knew of the illegal donation and claims she was told to forget the conversation ever happened.

The NSW Labor General Secretary has now been suspended by state Opposition leader Jodie McKay with Alan Jones slamming the decision.

“I have problems with all of this. It seems anyone can donate to a political party except a ‘property developer’… their money is apparently dirty.

“I don’t know Kaila Murnain but the headlines would suggest she’s crook. And of course, she’s not.”

Alan Jones has hit out at Opposition leader Jodie McKay’s decision.

“No one knows who she is, so she thinks burying a colleague might in some way help her out. I doubt it.”
