The push to relax marijuana laws is gaining momentum after Saturday’s federal election.

Legalise Cannabis Australia has received more than 338,000 Upper House votes.

In Queensland, the party’s leader, Bernie Bradley, is neck and neck with One Nation’s Pauline Hanson for the final spot in the Senate.

Australia’s Leading Medicinal Cannabis Prescriber Dr James Stewart told Ben Fordham the election result shows “the stigma around cannabis is starting to be more positive”.

“It just shows that the public awareness around cannabis and the safety are really starting to grow.”
