Defence Minister Peter Dutton has taken aim at the Queensland Premier’s “pretty cruel” state border policy after she doubled down on the closure.

Mr Dutton told Ray Hadley Annastacia Palaszczuk’s comments demanding a federal plan for booster shots, the vaccination of children and hospital capacities before she reopens her state, are “not based in fact”.

He commended the NSW and Victorian Premiers for detailing their roadmaps, providing some hope and certainty for residents and businesses.

“You don’t hear Daniel Andrews carrying on about boosters and other excuses as to why you can’t open up.

“Daniel Andrews and Dominic Perrottet … have been honest and open with the public.

“The fact that we’ve still got thousands of Queenslanders stuck outside their own state … is a disgrace.”
