Independent education expert Glenn Fahey has called attention to the responsibility unions hold for many aspects of the teacher shortage.

He joined Luke Grant on Drive to explain.

“There are so many people that want to enter teaching, it’s a really attractive profession despite what the Teacher’s Federation will tell us,” he said.

“The teacher’s union have created road blocks to preventing more teachers entering the profession when ultimately that’s the solution.”

Mr Fahey also explained how our better-performing teachers should be paid higher wages.
