‘They’re gone’: Legends put a line through Roosters finals hopes

Continuous Call Team

Rugby League legends Darryl Brohman and Mark Riddell have emphatically put a line through the Sydney Roosters finals chances this season.

It comes after they were defeated 30-16 by the Storm on Saturday at the SCG, leaving them with just seven wins from 17 games in 14th position on the ladder.

Despite boasting a team full of talent, Brohman said they haven’t looked like a top eight side all year.

“They’ve played dreadfully all year, I can’t think of a game they’ve won when they’ve been really convincing,” Brohman said.

“I think they’re gone.

“To me they look dispirited, there’s no energy in them.”

Mark Riddell, a former Roosters player himself, echoed The Big Marn’s thoughts on the Bondi club.

“They’re gone, I cannot see them anywhere near the finals this year.”
