The new book ‘The Witness’ explores the story of Sandakan’s POW camp’s most notorious prisoner, Bill Sticpewich.

Author Tom Gilling told Deborah Knight Sticpewich was only one of six Australian prisoners to survive the WWII camp.

“Most people thought he was a terrible person. All the other five survivors disliked him – some hated him.”
