The shortage that could grind Aussie trucks to a halt

Truckies are warning the economy could grind to a halt amid a shortage of diesel exhaust fluid.

A global shortage of AdBlue has been linked to China’s influence in the market, with the Australian government working on sourcing supply from Indonesia.

Road Freight NSW CEO Simon O’Hara told Chris Smith “it’s a serious situation” with half of Australian trucks using AdBlue.

“We use it to ensure we are as environmentally friendly as possible.

“It’s essential for our trucks to keep moving.

“This is a global phenomenon there’s hoarding going on … price hikes in the rest of the world.”
