The Big Guns: PM should be ‘held to account’ for Royal Commission hold up
Revelations at the Royal Commission have claimed another, with AMP Chairman Catherine Brenner resigning today, offering no apology for the company’s conduct.
As scandals continue to emerge from the commission, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull can’t escape the fact he was staunchly against having a Royal Commission.
“For two years he held this up. And he should be held to account for that,” the Big Guns’ Graham Richardson tells Ben Fordham.
“The main thing is, we’ve got it done. Let’s just hope we do see some prosecutions because there ought to be some.
“And people ought to understand that thieving… just plain thieving, has its rewards and its rewards ought to be somewhere in a cement motel.”
The other half of the Big Guns, Andrew Bolt, says the government made the “right decision at the very, very wrong time.”
“Do you thank them for coming to the right decision eventually or damn them for waiting so long before they do it?”
