The Adeles and Beyoncés of Tudor England return to the Sydney Opera House

Historical pop musical Six is returning to Sydney in December.

Six retells the stories of King Henry VIII’s wives, with the women reclaiming their ‘her’story.

Producer Louise Withers told Deborah Knight the “pop-fuelled madness” sold out its 2020 Sydney season, making it the Sydney Opera House Studio’s most successful summer season, and she hopes the queens will recreate their achievement this year.

“There’s an Adele-sounding ballad, and there is a Beyoncé-sounding track.

“Each of the characters of the six wives was … matched with the music style of a very, very familiar icon.”
