A cabinet minister has issued a passionate plea for Australians to snub Coles and Aldi after they refused to abandon dollar-a-litre milk.

Woolworths scrapped their $1 home-brand milk yesterday, but Coles and Aldi are refusing to follow their lead.

Agriculture Minister David Littleproud tells Ben Fordham Australians should simply “vote with their wallets”.

“All they have to do is go and shop at a local IGA or a Woolworths who are going to support dairy farmers, and stick it up these guys.”

Mr Littleproud says the supermarket giants need to be taught a lesson.

“They’re basically saying they don’t really care about the dairy industry.”

Woolworths made the announcement after an emotional video of dairy farmer Casey Treloar went viral last week.
